There are some orders that stay with you, not because they were the biggest, but because of the feeling behind them. This was one of those.
It started with a simple enquiry from Shivam, who was looking for a birthday gift for his better half. We had a brief conversation around ideas and customisation, but after a point, it went quiet.
Naturally, I assumed we might not be able to take this one forward. And that’s okay, every enquiry doesn’t always turn into an order.
But a few days later, something unexpected happened.
Shivam walked into our Dehradun store. ✨
With the same request.
With Pinterest inspiration.
And with so much hope to create something special.
Where the Real Process Began
What I remember most is the time he took.
He didn’t rush. He didn’t randomly pick items.
He spent over an hour going through different sections of the store, trying to imagine what his girlfriend would like.
From hair accessories and cute makeup to skincare and jewellery, he explored everything. And honestly, at one point, he got confused (which is completely fair 😭) because there were just too many options.
That’s where I stepped in.
For me, this is the most important part of what we do at Ruh Qawia, helping someone turn scattered ideas into a cohesive, thoughtful hamper.
I started helping him refine the selection:
keeping the overall vibe soft, feminine, and aesthetic
making sure the products complemented each other
and ensuring it didn’t feel random, but curated
Building the Hamper, Step by Step 🎁
Once we had the base items in place, we moved on to the details that truly elevate a hamper.
I always believe fragrances and candles add a deeper emotional layer to gifting. So I introduced him to our signature collection.
After trying a few options, he selected our Candy Bloom perfume. 🌸
It fit perfectly with the soft, pretty aesthetic he was going for.
We also spent time finalising the hamper box itself, because presentation matters just as much as what goes inside.
Then came one of my favourite suggestions: adding fresh roses. 🌹
Now, adding roses means extra effort for us, more arrangement, more care, more time.
But I really felt this hamper deserved that softness and warmth.
So we went ahead with it.
To complete everything, we added a BOBO balloon with a birthday message. 🎈
That final touch made the entire hamper feel celebratory, personal, and complete.
Why This Meant So Much to Me
What stayed with me wasn’t just the final look of the hamper.
It was the intention.
Watching someone put so much thought into choosing a gift for someone they love, it’s a very real, very beautiful thing.
In moments like these, I’m reminded why I started Ruh Qawia.
It’s not just about selling products.
It’s about helping people express emotions through gifting.
A hamper, when done right, becomes more than just:
